Dental Cleaning and Exams:  These should be routinely done once every six months, starting at the age of three.

Filling:  All of the fillings done in our office are tooth colored composite resins to match the existing tooth.  This composite is bonded very strongly to the tooth and helps support the remaining tooth structure, preventing breakage of the tooth.

Crown:  A crown is a restoration that completely covers a tooth to help protect it.  This typically can be performed on a tooth that is broken, cracked, or already has a large existing filling.  As technology has improved, there are many options for the type of crown that is fabricated.  This includes: porcelain fused to metal, all gold, and several types of all ceramic crowns.  All of the crowns, with the exception of the gold crown, are tooth colored and blend in with your natural teeth.

Bridge:  A bridge is used to replace one or several missing teeth by permanently adjoining and cementing crowns to the teeth on both sides of the absent tooth.

Implant Crown:  A dental implant is a device usually made of titanium that replaces the root of a missing tooth.  This procedure is typically provided by an oral surgeon or a periodontist.  The crown that is placed on top of the implant is restored in our office.  The dental implant is the most desirable way to replace a missing tooth.

Root Canal:  This is a procedure to save an infected tooth by removing the inflamed tissue and filling the canals with a natural rubber material called gutta percha.  A crown is usually placed on a root canal treated tooth to help further protect it.

Denture/ Partial Denture: With a custom designed process, replacing missing teeth can be done with a complete or partial denture.  Wearing a denture can improve your facial appearance by providing lip support that is typically lost after losing teeth.

Overdenture: The most comfortable and functional way to wear a denture would be an implant overdenture.  With two or more implants placed in the mouth, the denture snaps into place, avoiding any movement while talking or eating.

TMD: This is when the Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) is inflamed or the disk in the joint is displaced.  In most cases this condition is caused from grinding or clenching.  This joint disorder can cause a number of symptoms including: discomfort, difficulty opening or chewing, earaches, headaches, neck and shoulder pain, or a dull ache in the face.  This typically can be alleviated by wearing a simple appliance.
